Hitachi AIRIS "Open" MR System

Open MR used to be a contradiction in terms.

Hitachi AIRIS Open MR System From the beginning, "enclosed" conventional magnetic resonance technology - while a diagnostic marvel - has posed some discomfort or concern for certain patients, such as those who are very young, large, or claustrophobic. In recent years, so-called "open" units have been marketed. But they have simply offered larger enclosures, or have sacrificed image quality for the sake of patient comfort.

Now Parkside MR Center offers a truly open MR system conveniently located in our Park Ridge, Illinois facility.

The new Parkside AIRIS MR System:

* Offers open access on all four sides.
* Has virtually unlimited table weight capacity.
* Provides consistent diagnostic-quality images on a par with conventional MR units.

The AIRIS is a quieter, more comfortable option for patients:

* Young children can be accompanied by an adult during the scan, reducing the need for sedation.
* Very large or overweight individuals are more easily accommodated - even those over 300 lbs.
* Claustrophobia and anxiety are reduced by the open and spacious design.

technician and child What patients want...

Quiet, comfortable scans.
Consistent, high quality diagnostic images.

Now, for the first time, there is an open MR unit that provides both. It is Parkside's new, state-of-the-art AIRIS MR System. Patients appreciate the open design of AIRIS. It's freely accessible from all four sides, which means patients can be comforted by a relative or friend during the entire scan. And the unit is so quiet, they can even listen to music - without headphones.

...and physicians need.

For physicians, what makes AIRIS so revolutionary is the system's consistently high image quality. This .3 Tesla scanner uses advanced permanent magnet design and unique coil technology to produce diagnostic-quality images at a level once possible only with high-field "enclosed" MR units.
