MRI exams cause no pain and exposure to radiation is avoided. A warm
sensation may be sensed in the area under examination; this is normal |

Approximately 1 in 20 patients require medication to reduce the anxiety

Filling out and signing the patient checklist accurately and completely prior to a MRI exam is extremely important |

Repetitive knocking sounds are common throughout the imaging session.

A MRI technologist will communicate with the patient throughout the session. The patient can communicate with the technologist at any time |

Written results from the MRI exam will be available to your physician within 24-48 hours |
